In the early 1970's William (Bill) Grisdale was enjoying some success in the competitive field of 'Off Road Racing' with his friend and mechanic of many years, Harry Plastow. They were always searching for better lap times, with a little more speed, lighter parts, anything to go faster. One of the ways they reasoned that would increase the horsepower to weight ratio was to have the body constructed of lightweight fiberglass. After much searching (before the world wide web) they located a manufacturer in California making appropriate panels, but this small fiberglass shop had a deluge of backorders, so there was a long wait and the expense of money exchange, customs brokers and transport of the body made this prohibitively expensive.

So, racers being what they are, moved on to plan 'B' which meant they were now going to manufacture their own fiberglass body. After researching this field, Bill, armed with a little knowledge and a fiberglass roller undertook his first fiberglass project and soon other racers were banging on his doors with orders. A small shop was constructed next to his house and Grisdale Enterprises was born.

Twenty years later, the business has developed into a full line racing supplier, including track parts, fuel and tire sales. Today we occupy approximately 20,000 square feet of modern office, warehouse, manufacturing, counter sales and shipping and receiving areas to serve our customers throughout Canada, the United States and other countries around the world.
